Seeed Studio, card-size companion radio
SenseCAP MeshTracker X1
A card-size, IP66 Meshtastic radio with dual-band GPS, a barometer and an 1100 mAh battery. No screen: you use it through a phone app.
Best for
Carrying in a pocket or pack where weather resistance and GPS accuracy matter more than a screen.
Photo pending: we only show images we own or are licensed to use.
Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- IP66 dust and water rating (Seeed).
- Dual-band L1 + L5 GPS and a barometer (Seeed).
- Listed in Meshtastic's hardware documentation with its own firmware build.
Limitations
- No reset button: firmware updates by button need the Meshtastic OTAFIX bootloader 2.5 or later (Meshtastic docs).
- Internal antenna limits range compared with an external one.
- Newer radio chip (Semtech LR2021) with a shorter track record than the T1000-E.
What it does not do
- Show messages on the device. It has a button, LED, buzzer and vibration motor, no display, so you need a phone.
- Take an external antenna. The antennas are internal.
- Run MeshCore, as far as we can find: neither Seeed nor MeshCore documents it for this model.

MeshCore and Meshtastic are separate firmware and network systems. Check the exact hardware model, firmware, regional radio setting and local coverage before buying. These low-data-rate systems do not replace emergency services or broadband.
Operate radio equipment within your local frequency, power and equipment-authorization rules. Firmware compatibility is not regulatory approval.
Before you buy
- Set the region before first use.
- Seeed's runtime and range claims are not shown here: we publish only measured figures.
